Radio Shack Dialer Modification

Extracted from a post to Usenet. Unfortunately I no longer have the original article.

Buy a Radio Shack touch tone dialer (part number 43-146).
Unscrew all of the screws.
Desolder the crystal which says 3579 (or Z358) on it.
Replace it with a 6.5536 MHz crystal.
Replace the cover.
You have now have a red box.
